The incomplete guide to total anarchy

Ik kwam bij Rémi Gaillard uit door het zien van de The Antics Roadshow van (street)artist Banksy. Deze 'Incomplete guide to total anarchy' werd in augustus 2011 uitgezonden door Channel 4 en is ook op youtube te zien.

De titel, The Antic Roadshow, is een variatie op de Antiques Roadshow, de Britse Tussen kunst & kitsch. Antic is een synoniem voor farce of klucht. De documentaire is Banksy's commentaar op de rellen in Britse steden afgelopen zomer. Hij laat zien dat er andere, betere manieren zijn om het gezag uit te dagen.

Uit de programmagids van Channel 4:
'An hour-long special made by Banksy charting the history of behaving badly in public, from anarchists and activists to attention seeking eccentrics.' Hoewel de meeste acties in The Antics Roadshow heel geestig zijn, is het opvallend dat de mensen die blijken te handelen uit 'heartfelt political beliefs' soms behoorlijk eng zijn. Ze hebben, om met Arnon Grunberg te spreken, 'last van een overuiging'. Dat maakt ze moralistisch en fanatiek.
